Composite sails application

Fully mastering the parameters that govern thrust produced by today’s composite sails is challenging, as they are difficult to observe without enough distance.

Sail geometry analysis is an ideal example where Labsail™ technology allows flexible “electronic vision ribands” to give a real-time 3D display of the sail’s flying shape.

The patented systems include no external device, and, without any connector, it is easy to install. It does not interfere with sail handling and trimming, and can be used on more than one sail.

Labsail™ makes it possible to display a dashboard for the sail trimmer, providing for each sail section all the useful aerodynamics characteristics. The information collected inside the sail is not perturbed by the environment.
