Bill Platt has extensive and wide-ranging experience in ship design. Highlights of past work:

USCG Subchapter T and K ferries, arrangement, structure, stability for various operators in New England.

Hydrodynamic fairing design for multibeam sonar systems on a number of research ships.

Numerous tug and barge refit and modification designs including repowering, cargo handling modifications, ITB reconfiguration and general arrangement changes.

Oil tank barge/ship basic and detail design.

Containership preliminary and structural design.

Yacht design: concept, preliminary design, and detail design.

Detail outfitting and project design/management for large yachts.

General structural design of hulls, decks, masts, keels, and specialized systems in steel, aluminum, wood and composite.

Extensive experience with USCG, ABS, Lloyd's Register, DNV, and GL developing technical submittals and achieving design approval.
