The family has been involved in the marine industry for generations. Yannis Kontaxopoulos, the founder of Ikaros Marine, is an aeronautical engineer with a vast experience of the yachting industry while his wife Marina is an experienced broker, racing sailor and sailing book author. As racing enthusiasts both will be race officers at the Athens 2004 Olympic sailing event. They can be found on the course Charlie, where the 470s and Tornados will be racing.
